French baker Jean-Louis Hecht has rolled out a 24-hour automated baguette dispenser, promising warm bread for hungry night owls, shift workers or anyone else who doesn’t have time to pick one up during their bakery’s opening hours.
M. Hecht pretends that this is the new way to do bakery. It is however easy to imagine the hygiene issues that come with an unwrapped piece of bread coming out of a machine. How clean can they guarantee the bread slot to be?
