In their pursoot to revolutionize the textile industry, Catalytic Clothing has developed a technology that would fight pollution. This is the creation mashup of a scientist with a designer to create sustainable wearable products.
The texture appearance of this dress does not appeal to me at all. The dress is very uneventful and the colors are dull to say the least. But I do give these people credit for pushing the envelope in terms of environment-friendly innovations.
This short film features model Erin O’Connor and music by Radiohead. A collaboration between Helen Storey from the London School of Fashion and Tony Ryan from the University of Sheffield , the project explores how wearable textiles can be used as catalytic surfaces to scrub the air of nitrogen oxides and volatile organic compounds, both of which are emitted by factories and automobiles.
