In their pursoot to make a health-fueled comeback, Krispy Kreme plans to diversify its menu. Krispy Kreme, who is famous for their classic glazed doughnuts, hopes to boost sales with healthier treats and new products. It hopes to get into the coffee game which would put him in direct competition with Dunkin Donuts, Starbucks and Second Cup.
Chief Executive Officer James Morgan plans to add oatmeal, yogurt, and fruit juice to the Krispy Kreme menu. The very prospect would have been laughable in the late 1990s when the chain’s “Original Glazed” doughnut became a national obsession.
